I can relate because I have a very lazy and sloppy 16 year old. The way I do it is nicely ask her to clean up and then if she doesn't I take things like her cell phone or the computer or even her boyfriend away. I know it's hard not to scream your head off but try to take a deep breath and talk to your 16 yr old as calmly as you can because mine loves it when I scream at her because she knows she got a rise out of me. One time she wouldn't quit piling clothes on her bed and i warned her every day for a week that if she didn't pick them up by the end of the week i would do it myself. I actually got rid of her bed and some of her clothes too. She stays with me and her dad part time so she slept on the couch for awhile at my house. It taught her a lesson though! Just be calm and lay the rules down and tell her the consequences if she doesn't do it. Good Luck!

Kick them out. Being on your own at such a young age always has a way of making the child appreciate home and what you do for them.
