i am now going to file for divorce. Once my 2 years are up, what are some legal alternative to finalize my citizenship here.

I have been living in the United States for 15 years and am 20 years old. I go to school full-time and work full-time and my 2 sisters are american citizens.

Alternatives?

I really dont wanna have to stay with an abusive husband just because of papers!!

Get a good immigration lawyer to guide you. If you divorce, you will loose your sponsor. Since you were a victim of domestic violence, the INS will probably take a generous stance towards you. Since your sisters are both US citizens, there is a good chance that they could sponsor your green card if they are over 18. What you need now is some legal advice from a qualified lawyer.

No, you do not have to stay with an abusive husband! You need to see an experience immigration lawyer (not a "consultant", make sure s/he is a member of the "American Immigration Lawyers Association"!) S/he should be able to help you get a permanent green card by filing an I-751, but if not, there is always an I-360, which is specifically for victims of domestic violence. Please make sure you document the domestic violence (witnesses to either violence, threats or injuries, police reports, restraining order, doctor/hospital reports of injuries.) Good luck!

I assume the following:you received your green card through VAWA and therefore you do not need to stay with your husband. You should contact the National Immigrant Justice Center: http://www.immigrantjustice.org/whatWeDo.asp#isdv

Best wishes!!

Hopefully you have some documentation (such as police reports) to show that you were serious in the relationship but due to the abuse you could not stay in the relationship. GOOD LUCK!=)
