Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

"That's just life" is not an explanation for insomnia. Jeez.
There can be many many causes for insomnia, including depression, stress, anxiety, nutritional deficiencies, etc etc etc.
Find yourself a good naturopath or other natural medicine practioner, and they'll help you both pinpoint the cause, and find a solution. It worked brilliantly for me.
You could also try visiting your local health food store and checking out the many natural supplements available. But I'd see a naturopath or similar first. No point in just treating the symptom. If you can find the cause and fix it, insomnia (and any other problems you may be having) will go away.
Good luck :)

Do some cardio exercise for 30 minutes to an hour each morning (if you have the time). Turn off the computer or TV 1 hour before bedtime.

I have insomnia, I just am doing other things and I keep looking at my watch and notice it's getting later, and later, and later. Then I'll be blown away that its almost morning so I'll try to sleep, and really quickly my alarm goes off. I want to sleep but never have time..

that's just life, lie in bed and think too much and everyone gets depressed. no escape, that's just insomnia. just try to think good things or interesting things. not too interesting or they'll keep you up too. my flatmate says he tries to picture good dream scenarios. fantasising is always a good tactic. a film in the background is good too. or medication.

my doctor calls it a wandering mind. you just have a lot going on in your world that you focus on right be4 u go to sleep. then, u get scared about something. perscription sleep aids might help, though they can be addictive. try something like tylonal pm or benodryl.
