Why is the resell value on land rovers so depriciated.New ones go for around $35,000- to $95,000, and used ones go from $20,000 down with very little miles and very minimal damage.I was wondering if it had anything to do with the cost of general maintance and routine care.

Did you happen to notice which brand is in last place? That should answer both, your maintenance cost Q , & give a clue as to why the price is so cheap....and maybe why it's being sold.

Sorry to be the bearer of such bad news, but I truly hope this helps you in your buying decision.

General maintance costs depend on where you go and what you have done going to the dealer will cost a heck of a lot more then going to a gas station mechanic for the work such a resell value drop may be because the warranty ran out or the place selling them really don't want to keep them long so they drastically drop the prices for used cars to make room for the new ones

Land rover is a mechanics car. It will need to be repaired on a regular basis. Multiply the cost of regular automotive parts for domestic autos by a factor of 5. Then your options for a shop are slim also. You get the dealer or a shop that works on british cars. I would recomend to not buy one used. If you must have one get a new one and sell it before the warranty runs out. cheers and the croud returns to the 99 beers on the wall song from the beginning because it is not proper good queen's english to start in the middle after stopping without finishing the song.

Maintenance on any Rover is costly as parts are hard to come by and looney-toons expensive. While the Disco is a very solid vehicle and well built it really is no better than a Chevy Tahoe. If you aren't buying for the status factor parked in your driveway you would be money ahead purchasing any number of domestic vehicles for usually less money and far superior dependability.

Maintenance will be high on those makes. Studies show that a new car loses about half the price in 3 years. Besides that parts and labor for those vehicles are astronomical like Mercedes or BMW parts and service. If you can afford a breakdown every now and then get what you like.
