It is possible that you are low on potassium...can cause muscle spasms...Try eating some bananas and see if it helps...Some causes are fatigue, squinting a lot, consuming too much caffeine, or working in a less than ideal visual environment, e.g., staring at a computer screens for long periods of time. Just like a muscle spasm at any other part of the body, an eye twitch can mean you've taxed your muscles and need to relax them.

Consult your physician first, for I am not one. But usually this means you may lack calcium. Look into calcium supplements. I work for a Chiropractor and hear of this all the time. That is usually what the doctor recommends.

Usually those twitches are caused by stress...just lower your stress level, no pills needed.

get more rest and take in less caffeine. eliminate as much stress as possible, maybe do more exercise
