What caliber? How heavy is the ball? How much powder is behind it? How long is the musket barrel?What kind of powder are you using? Answer these first.

This is what I found, it depends on the size and weight of the ball....

For a .74 cal. musket with an 80 grain Fg charge a Muzzle Velocity of 809fps. (Roughly equivalent to the Park Service Matchlocks.)

For a 50 cal. Trade Rifle with a 50 grain FFFg charge a Muzzle Velocity of 1545fps; 70 grain FFg charge a Muzzle Velocity of 1598fps. (Roughly equivalent to my much lighter Arquebus.)
