Yes, they can take your dog away if someone complains about it or if anyone is suspicious. So get your friens dog registered asap!

Most dogs are not Registered. Registered means that you have filled out some papers and send them along with some money in to a dog breed organization - like the AKC - American Kennel Club. Dogs need rabies shots and most states require a dog license to be purchased. Nothing happens if your dog is not registered.

Don't know who "They" are, but I doubt that they care.

If you mean breed registered, like with the AKC, nothing will happen. Lots of dogs are unregistered.

If you mean like registered for city, county, or state law, then your friend's dog could be taken away, destroyed, or at the very least your friend could be fined.

Usually it's not much to get registered that way. For a neutered pet in my area, it's like $5.

If your dog is not licensed in your town, you can be fined. In some places they can try to seize the dog. They don't really want to take the dog, they just want to make sure the dog is up to date on its rabies shot and registered properly.

If you are late, just go to the town hall, fess up and register the dog.

The town next door ran a list of people who failed to re-register their dogs on the town's cable access channel. This backfired when several citizens went to the local paper with proof their dogs had died and that was why they weren't registered.

Imagine the picture of the poor elderly woman holding a photo of her deceased dog on the front page of the paper. I don't think they'll be going the cable access route again!

Are you asking about an apartment complex registry? Yes they can make the dog go away or make her pay the extra rental fee for those that own pets. You do know when we talk registering a dog we don't me for housing right?

"They" who? I assume that you are talking about AKc or some other breed registry, and not liscencing. The only thing that will happen is that the dog will not be able to be shown in conformation (the types of shows that are shown on TV, and usually come to mind when dog shows are mentioned). In AKC however you can register for an ILP (indefinate listing privilege) for purebred dogs to compete in performance events such as obedience and agility.

Registered usually refers to purebred and papered. No "they" wont care. If you mean unlicensed, as in no shots or tags, then yes he can be made to pay a fine and get the dog vaccinated. The dog would probably only be taken if found wandering or turned in for some mistreatment.

registered for what. The dog should be licensed by your town/city, if caught your friend could get a fine. If it is a pure bred you don't have to register it the the AKC if you don't want to.
