You could try intervention, but doubt it would do any good. They need to go to treatment.Discuss it with family and THERE friends, if there straight. You are starting down a long hard road. I wish I could help you more as I know how hard it is to see a loved one this way.. All the luck in the world. Sorry

I know that a lot of people say that if an addict doesn't want to stop, there's nothing you can do. I personally think that is a bunch of crap. I know plenty of people who didn't THINK they wanted help but they really did. Do some people think an addict doesn't want help? Sure. Some don't. But that doesn'
t mean all don't. As far as an intervention, they are costly. And the addict may say no after you go through all the arrangements. That still doesn't mean they don't want help. It means they're scared. Have you talked with your brothers? That's the first step. Good luck.

Definitely! You could save the lives of both your brothers, but you need some heavy duty help for that kind of intervention. Check out local drug rehabs for strong recovered addicts. Try a good church- some have special groups who help with things like this, and of course all of the most level-headed family members you can get- good luck, and our prayers are with you and your brothers!

Stage an intervention with a psychologist or family therapist. That's about all you can do. They have to choose to get well, and you can't fix it for them. Al Anon is helpful, too. It's not just for families of alcoholics; it helps families of drug addicts, too, and you won't feel so alone with this.

Hide all your valubles and lock your door. Intervention is not going to work if your brothers don't want to stop. Sorry, sad but true.
