Ralph Waldo Emerson's entire essay "Compensation", and Henry David Thoreau in his Conclusion to "Walden" where he says "...if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined..." and ends with "If you have built your castles in the air your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them." He spent 10 years writing that, and I think it is one of the greatest paragraphs ever written.
