Here is my wife's recipe for the BEST sugar cookies:
Sherri’s Sugar Cookies
1 c. butter
1 c. oil (Hey, I never said they were health food!)
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 t. soda
1 t. cream tartar
1 t. salt
4 c. flour
Mix all the ingredients together, following this order, adding things one at a time. Roll into logs and chill. Slice chilled dough into slices (1/8-1/4 inch thick) and bake at 375° on ungreased cookie sheet or parchment until they just start getting brown around the edges.
Let them melt in your mouth. And just TRY to eat only one!
