If the Bible says that slavery is good, then why did the Lord tell Moses to free the slaves?(Exodus) If it says it is ok to sell a woman for pleasure, then why was Soddom and Gomorrah destroyed?(Genisis 18 and 19) You need to study up before you run around changing the bible's wording to try to justify something you feel is incorrect.

Could you cite the Biblical verses that says:
1. "Slavery is good"
2. "Women can be sold into the sex trade"
3. "Eating shellfish is punishable by death"
In my opinion, you are someone who has NEVER read the Bible, you have merely parroted what other people who have claimed.
When you do that, you look foolish.

First, man's laws will NEVER "trample" God's laws.
Second, you might try actually reading the Bible instead of mindlessly repeating something you've heard someone else say.
For instance, you might try citing a reference for your Biblical claims, or investigating the original documents concerning "the separation of church and state."
Christians are bound to follow the law of the land UNLESS it contradicts God's established laws. Then, we follow Him & trust in His provision. So far, thankfully, the US has not made a law that we can't follow.

If that is what you want, follow the law that you believe in and respect. I just do not see the bible as the law specially if the laws are not enforceable and punishable. Federal laws, on the other hand can be enforced and punish the law breakers.

god delivered his people form slavery, made marriage laws to protect rights of women, and shellfish can have mercury it it and other gross stuff....
the separation clause was orignally meant to keep the state out of the church's business, not the other way around
i guess you can move to a muslim country and see how they treat you over there..

Try reading the New Testament, which consists of a new covenant and how God brought his people out of slavery. If the bible says slavery was good, then, God would have never brought His people out of it............. Better yet, try reading the whole bible.
