I know on 5.0 all you have to do is click and drag them on top of eachother. But on this 4.0 it won't let me do it and it won't let me copy and paste...

CtrL + A , Ctrl+ C
Ctrl+ P into your other image

if you can't do that, then you're runing a pirated version of photoshop.

It's possible that the image you're trying to paste/drag isn't the in the same mode as the other image.

For example, if you're trying to drag an indexed color image onto an RGB image, you'd first have to convert the indexed image to RGB mode (Image>Mode>RGB) before you can combine the two.
