How many times should I take him a bath in a week? (I read some books, but might have missed that part)

Giving an animal too many baths isn't good at all! So I would recommend giving him a bath every three to four weeks. Don't give him too many baths, because animals aren't even used to taking baths at all in the wild, and also your pet has essential amino acids and oils on his fur that keep his fur healthy and strong. If you wash those away, then his fur will be more likely to fall off and have more fleas than usual!

Its ok to bath your pup as long as he is over 6 weeks old. Make sure you use shampoo especially for puppies as their skin can be sensitive at this age. Depending on the breed of dog, sometimes you shouldn't bathe him every week. All dogs have natural oil in their skin and some more than others and you can strip this oil away by bathing too much or not using an appropriate shampoo. Make sure that under NO circumstances that you use human shampoo. Make sure your puppy is well dried because they get cold easy. Have fun with your new addition.

never bathe him more than once a week! make sure there is not too much water, because if there is too much he will tend to associate baths as bad things. If you bath too often, he will get dry or irritating skin. Once a month or when he is normally groomed (if he goes to the groomers) is the best time to get him washed, unless he`s very dirty. You should bath him less in the summer, and never let him outside after bathing (he may get the chills).

Good luck with your puppy!

Alot of people will say just to give them a bath 2x's a month, or less. But I have always gave mine at least 1 bath a week. It really depends on the skin condition of the pup. Try to use puppy shampoo or some kind that wont dry out the skin. I have never had problems with my cocker spaniel's skin by giving him a bath every 2 days. I suppose it really depends on how dirty they get.. (hope this helps)

you can give it a bath once a month and make sure you use puppy shampoo. You dont say what kind so I dont know what kind of ears it has but I use a wad of cotton ball and put in my dogs ears so she doesn't get water in the ear. I also buy this bottle of blue ear cleaner for the ears not water. Find a book on your breed and it should give any special things to consider if anything. Give it lots of love and brush it every day and it will learn to let you handle it. Cut the nail every week you can go to the vets or a groomer and they will teach you how to do this.

How old is your puppy? If it's around 9 weeks, it's ok to give him a bath, be sure to use puppy shampoo. And 1 time a week is enough or they can get dry skin.

you don't need to wash your pet. Dogs are clean animals. Only bathe them if they got into a sticky mess or a skunk got to him. Then you bathe him in tomato juice. Even with that the pet will smell for a few weeks.

Only give him a bath, at most once a month, because any more than that can cause ear infections, and other tiny sicknesses that grow bigger. My personal suggestion is to only bathe your puppy once every other month, or when dirty/smelly.

It's best not to bathe your pup unless he's filthy or stinks. Washing too often strips the coat of oils and can result in dry, itchy skin.

you shouldn't give your dog a bath unless it needs it. especially as an adult. giving your dog a bath constantly as an adult will dry out its skin. this will make it more proned to infection or rash.
