I am so sorry that your dog has crossed over the rainbow bridge. I wish I could offer you some words that would comfort you, but a loss like that is too profound for any words to truly express how we feel. Try to take comfort in knowing that your dog is romping through beautiful fields, swimming in clear lakes, and preparing a nice place for you when it's time for you to join him/her. Your dog will always be in your heart, and always watching over you. *hugs*

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Losing a companion animal like a dog is incredibly tough--it can be as painful a loss as losing a relative or friend.
Animals give us so much joy, and the bittersweet that must go along with that is our understanding that their life spans are much shorter than our own. Be grateful for the time you had with your dog, and know that you were probably the light of your dog's life. There is a poem that may comfort you, and I'm sure I will not be the only one to mention it. It's called "The Rainbow Bridge" and all you have to do is a Google or Yahoo search for that title--copy and paste it with the double quotes.
You will be going through different feelings as you grieve. Don't be afraid of the feelings that wash over you, and don't be afraid to ask for some help if the feelings seem too powerful. Sometimes all we need is a hug and to know we are not alone.
In time, the pain will begin to ease up on you. You won't ever forget that wonderful dog! The love you poured into your dog, and the love your dog gave back to you, do not die. Love is forever. Another comforting book, although it doesn't deal with pets, is a picture book by Robert Munch (I may have misspelled his last name) titled, "Love You Forever." I know you are probably thinking, boy this lady is whack, I am way too old for picture books. Sorry! It's a book for all ages that happens to have pictures. My 9th graders love it! The idea is that Love is forever and keeps going.
Be gentle with yourself. If you need to cry, cry. If you can't cry, that's ok, too. When you need to be quiet and alone, draw, write, play an instrument, go for a walk or a run. When you need company, seek out family, friends, anyone who cares about you should understand.

It's amazing how much are pets love us and the older i get it seems the dogs get smarter. I have had dogs all my life and i think they are more loyal then most people i know. The bad part is it always comes to an end, and it hurts. The best thing i have found is to get another dog right away and soon your heart will stop hurting, but you will remember that dog for along time. Now you have a new friend to heal your heart. Isn't God great? Enjoy life and your new friend.

Dogs are naturally very loyal companions. Your dog loved you very much as well as your family. Its tough getting over a death of some one that you really cared for. Remember the good times. Also remember that your dog is in heaven. It is probably waiting for you. Your dog is probably chasing that neighbours cat, who died several years before him. Remember to think about the good times the dog brought you. Also talk to a grief counsellor. They may help you deal with your grief.

WHO! this is a tuff one . Especially when we are so attached to are dog's, thay truly are man's best friend. There are special burial plans for are K-9 companions. Make sure to preserve the special photographs that I hope you two have together. Time will help, although it may not heal completely . Maybe you could replace that Big Heart with the same breed. I am truly sorry for you and know your heart is broken. Puppy's go to puppy heaven and will be waiting for you there. Remember you gave a lot of love and received lots of love in return. When you are ready another puppy will come into your life to take the hurts away. Good Luck,

i'm truly sorry for your loss but don't worry, wherever your dog is just imagine that hes happy....i have a dog of my own and i've had her for years now..and i know that if she would ever pass away..i would feel sad because she part of my family...but as long as you have all those precious memories kept with you then its as if your dog is still alive, just not with you.... besides its not good to think about its absence, instead just think about all the happinessyour dog brought to your life..and no matter what happens, no one can take that away...

Remember, your doggie is in that great big place up there where doggies go. She's very happy, and as long as you remember and continue to love her, you can know that everything's alright.
