not true, Dogs are happy to see their owners when their owner comes back regardless of time-space. You have to understand that a dog is a sociable animal and if left on its own for long periods of time, can become stressed, and so feel much more secure with their owners around.

They are just as excited if you put out the trash and come back in, unless they were holding in a bathroom visit outside and then they may be a bit more excited to see you.

I've found I can step out of my house for a few seconds, then run back in, and my dog is so excited that it's like we've been apart for years. They're just glad you haven't deserted them!

Dogs only have two concepts as to time....now, and forever. They'll be just as excited if you're only gone for 5 minutes as if you were gone for 5 days. hou are "here now" and "gone forever"

really it depends on their personality, ex. some dogs ignore you for a while because youve left them to long. some cant wait to see you. it really depends on your dog.
