My sister says that there is a chance it can make your clit completely numb. I don't get why, because your hood, not the clit, is pierced. Also, does it get a lot of scar tissue later?

The hood itself is just a small amount of skin to protect the clitoris from over-stimulation. Thus, piercing it will not lead to clitoral numbness. If, however, the clitoris itself it pierced, you will experience a few months of extreme sensitivity, and then extreme numbness, due to overstimulation.

The amount of scar tissue that is left behind if you decide to remove a hood piercing is next to nothing. That are is fairly quick healing, so you're looking at about two weeks for initial healing. As with any sort of piercing, the longer you have it for, the longer it will take to close down once you remove the jewellery.

Hope that helps. :)

In very rare cases it CAN lead to numbness. For instance, if it strikes a nerve or is pierced incorrectly, it can cause some numbness in other areas besides just the hood (which is quite close to the clitoris itself). Also, if the area happens to get infected and not taken care of right away, that can also cause numbness (though that's usually temporary, until the infection is cleared up).

And everyone's reactions are different.

I would think that you are right... unless they don't do it right and it pokes your clit. How could one in your hood damage your clit? If you do it let me know how it looks!! I've seen girls with it done and it looks pretty cool. Make sure you shave!!

I've heard that it increases sensitivity, not numbs, but I really don't know
