First, check with a dealer for tsb's (technical service bulletins) some times there is a known cause for these things. Next, find a shop that has a scanner that can look at your engines sensors while it is running. You have a sensor problem it sounds like. Crankshaft/camshaft sensors behave in this way. Don't change anything till you have diagnosed and found the problem. I don't know if your check engine lite is on but you could get the trouble codes scanned anyway and look for pending codes that haven't set the lite yet. Don't allow a "mechanic" to replace any part on a "I think it might be" this can cost many $$ and do no good. NEVER replace any part till you know the problem. Read the answers to your question and it will give you an idea of the class of "mechanics" out there.

you want to connect a gas gauge on the valve that you'll locate alongside the gas rail the position the injectors are connected. The rigidity shld study round 40 psi on the gauge.look into for any vacuum leaks on the intake manifold, hoses any leak provide you with this type of symptom.some gas pump via growing older will posed this type of symptom too.If the single way valve of the pump itself is leaking the gas will go back to the tank leaving the gas strains empty once the engine is close off.you could attempt this by turning the ignition change from off to run 2 to three circumstances to top off the strains. Then initiate it and note if it is going to starts instantly.

it it won't turn over, it's the battery system, mine does this every month or two. I just charged it up overnight and it good for 2.or 3 months. sometime the cables get dirty and just need a good cleaning, you have to take them off to get the inside and post. if that doesn't fix it, you probably need a new regulator thats inside the alternator, or just by the whole thing :)

Try taking it to a mechanic. Most repair shops will do an initial check for free or for a small fee.

Hum you might have a dead spot in your starter. Also just make sure your terminal connections to the battery are tight and not corroded or anything.
