yes , lcd's get very warm , but it should not get to the point where it is too hot to touch..... the brighter the colors the more energy the hotter it gets ...... so to reduce the heat you can change the color saturation.... i.e. put it on movie in the menu.....

It will be hotter twords the top, where the lamp is. if it gets really hot, to hot to touch comfortably, call cust service and talk to them about it, bu being warmish is normal, like a light fixtue.

they sould not get hot they consumn less power than a plasma
