The term means something different in dogs than it doesn in humans.

Abortion in dogs is defined as death of the fetus followed by expulsion of the products of conception. It usually occurs during the last three weeks of pregnancy. You would see bleeding and the passing of tissue. It often can be caused by brucillosis.

Dogs can also reabsorb their puppies, you wouldn't see any signs of the loss.

If your dog is passing blood and tissue bring her to the vet so they can check for an infection and you can get the best care for her.

Good luck!

If it is a medical abortion you will know and so will they and they wont come to you. For real now if they miscarry they go thru labor and delivery and you will know it happened, there will be a small mess to clean up and I would make an appointment with a vet to make sure there is not something wrong with my dog that made them miscarry. I believe it is always called an abortion as that is how my doctor refered to my miscarriage.

I had a dog that had a false pregnancy and false labor, took her to the vet as I had never seen anything like that are you sure she is pregnant?

Your dog will probably seem under the weather for several days/weeks, the swelling of the stomach will stop and she may excrete waste from her uterus, depending on the stage of pregnancy. Fever, sickness and tiredness may accompany these symptoms. I would thoroughly recommend a check-up by a vet.

if a dog has an adortion, it's because the animal is in danger, and the vet performs the surgery. there is no symptoms. do you mean a miscarriage? learn to use the right vocabulary. your question makes no sense to me.

early labor? tummy muscles get tight and relax over and over... discharge from birth canal. nesting , digging the floor. same as birth signs, only sooner . it should take 63 days from mating to be a normal delivery.why do you think this is happening?
