You messed up by saying you were joking because then shes going to think your playing around and wasn't a smart move. Girls like confidence from a guy. Don't make it seem like your playing with her emotions even though you just got nervous and thought of a fast answer. Tell her you have been nervous and don't want to confuse her and wasn't sure how to tell her. Ask her if she wnats to hang out more and tell ehr you enjoy her company, just take it one step at a time to avoid being embarrased. Then as things progress you will see how much you like her and how much she likes you and if the chemistry is there without jumping to any conclusions or making yourself look bad.

She went silent because you caught her off-guard. Then you used a defense mechanism by saying that you were joking, and that probably confused or broke her heart. You should be worried. I have had a guy do this to me before and I thought he was playing games. I know that it may be frightening to tell someone that you like them. You can approach her again and say, "The other day... I meant what I said." Don't worry too much if she acts awkward. If she's silent again, just say something like, "I like spending time with you" or "I enjoy chatting with you." Ask her if she would like to get a bite to eat or something. Be casual. But whatever you do, please don't pull that joking line again!

That was not a good move! Because you did that, now she is not going to talk to you anymore. If she does, things will be very akward. So, you're going to have to start from scratch all over again. But I'm warning you, if you ask her out to the movies of some sort, she'll probably get very uncomfortable and say no. So, unfortunately, you just lost the girl of your dreams. Start over with someone new.

Do you really mean it? If you said you were joking then she may be afraid that your playing with her heart, otherwise tell her that you were just nervous and that you didn't mean you were "just jokin" and that you really do like her.
For her she was like a dear in headlights, its a lot of information to comprehend in a short amount of time. Just give her some time.

u shouldnt have told her u were just kidding. when girls are silent that means they are doing really deep thinking about somethin. she was probobly thinking if u were gunna ask her out and stuff like that. i do the same thing. i think u need to tell her the truth. that u do like her and thought she was worried about u likeing her back. than she will prolly tell u y she was being so quiet !! good luck and i hope for da best !!

that was a mistake man...telling her that you were just joking ...never say just joking when it come to the words" I like you" never dont take it back...probably y she went silent is bc you said those words...talk to her take her to dinner "AS FRIENDS" and talk to her....a nice dinner is good...and tell her how you really feel and when the little get together is over walk her to the door and tell her that you enjoyed the night and hope that you guys can do it again and hope that it can be a date...it works too get the girl's attention do it tell me who it turns out

i think u need 2 get this out with her as it will eat away inside off u ..............yer maybe she will go quite and not tlk to u but let me tell u its better that way than her get a bf and u seeing her happy it will not make u feel any better................. i know this beacuse i had a friend that felt the same way abut me and he told me when i was dating his friend

ask her out! say something like this:
