I have met an older man who is so lonely that he is showering me with gifts. And hands me money.. I have never been a gold digger.
I have rarely accepted things from men. He is nice but he reminds me of Forrest Gump. He says that he just wants someone to talk to and that I have given him a reason to live. I don't want to be a reason to live. I don't want him giving me thing that will make him think that he ownes me. Can a man be generous with a woman and truely NOT expect anything in return? Doesn't this always lead to sex?

It doesn't always lead to sex, but if you feel like you're being bought, then you probably need to end the gift giving now, before you cheapen yourself in your own eyes. Especially since it sounds like you don't have a romantic interest in this guy.
You can be his friend without the gifts, and I think you need to explain that to him. Maybe he's not expecting anything in return, but what if you meet someone else and start dating them? Don't you think that maybe he'd get upset since he's given you all these things, and you picked someone else?
I'd say you're feeling uncomfortable because of all this attention, so I'd say make him stop.

u should make it clear to this man exactly how you feel about him so that there is no misunderstandings and tell him the same thing you mentioned here except that he reminds you of forrest he may be a bit offended on that one

no i dont think this always leads to sex i was once in something like that...some guys are just overly nice and liek the attentionh of a girl who knows it ya know.and no i dont think he expects anything especially if u have told him so before.
