No, each person is different. Some can eat alot of food high in cholesterol and won't absorb it, while others can have high cholesterol while eating a low cholesterol diet. If your paretns have high cholesterol you may have high cholesterol in the future. You can get high cholesterol several ways. You can produce too much cholesterol, you consume and retain too much cholesterol, or you can not remove the cholesterol you have. Exercise help in removing cholesterol. A good diel can also help in the removal of cholesterol, as well as reducing the intake of cholesterol. Worry about it when your older and your cholesterol is actually high. Your young and your body actual needs more cholesterol than your parents. Just run around and play basketball or something and eat a well balance diet and you should be find until your an adult.

Everyone has some cholersterol in their blood; it's produced in your liver. Some people have high cholesterol because they inherited the tendency to produce too much and some have it because they eat foods that are high in cholesterol or high in saturated fat (which causes your liver to produce more.)

To keep your cholersterol level low, you should limit your intake of animal fats. This doesn't mean that if you like steak, you'll automatically have high cholersterol, just that you should eat it in moderation. At ten, you really don't need to worry about this; once you're an adult, you'll get your cholesterol checked and as long as it's in the normal range, you'll know you're doing things right. If it's high, your doctor will help you learn how to lower it.

High cholesterol is based on how you eat and how you exercise. I have heard that high cholesterol can be hereditary, but not very likely if you watch what you eat and stay active. My dad had high cholesterol, but I do not and neither does my brother, so there are two cases where it is not hereditary.
