Shaq's ancesters obviously were not Irish however it's very likely that his ancesters owners were, it was very common for slaves to take the name of their owners.

would be unable to you tell he's Irish? i will with the help of making use of finding at him. Come on, the guy's so tiny he could pass for a leprechaun! I bear in mind while Spike Lee's father, Will, replaced right into a respected jazz bassist. Then, the heroin. Sigh.

With the surname O'Neill he must have some Irish blood on his father's side. The Irish have been going over to the US for years so it could have been a very long time ago but at some point his ancestors would have been Irish.

Shaq's obviously NOT Irish. That's a crazy question. However, he does have an Irish surname. After the Civil War ended and all African Americans were freed, if they hadn't already taken on a last name they did at this time. Many freed slaves took the surname of their owners. Its quite possible that the name of one of Shaq's ancestors owners had the last name O'Neal.
