Unfortunately, male baby-mutilation does still occur. It is in the name of "cleanliness". It is thought that the practice was re-introduced to America to prevent or limit masturbation in young boys. I think soap and water would be a better solution for the cleanliness issue, and as for the other - well, go for it!

Jews and Christians alike. Circumcision (aside from being an act of a covenant) is also a very common medical procedure that makes the penis easier to clean, and more sensitive. Female circumcision is destructive, taking away main parts and preventing good hygiene. Most times girls get infections, and in some cases die. There's a big difference, circumcision has many productive benefits and no negative consequences, and female circumcision has no productive benefits, and many deconstructive consequences.
I cant believe that you would say that about boasting low birth rates an low unwanted pregnancies. i don't know if you have done your research, but female circumcision is not just sewing up the vagina. It is also the removing of essential parts of the woman. The girl will never grow up to have sex, never experience an orgasm, and rarely go through puberty! It is a sick, unjustified practice that is taking the lives, not just literally, away from potential mothers, grand mothers, and lovers. It is probable that the girl will never get married. It is ruining her life. It is not joking matter, and not compare able to the removing of the foreskin, which is more of a nuisance than anything.

>How many circumcised Jews are screwing around and getting >STD's and Aids?
I can answer that:
When scientist say it *lowers* the risk of getting STD's that doesn't mean you are totally free from STD’s. It means you are *less likely* to be infected. So if you practice non-safe sex, you are less likely to get infected if you were circumcised than if you were not. There is a small chance of getting infected (that’s why those Jews you mention get infected).
Studies have shown that circumcision provides an effective protection of up to 70%. That means that if an uncircumcised man has non-safe sex with a female who is HIV positive ten times, and is at risk of being infected at each and every of those sexual contacts, a circumcised man is safe at 7 of those 10 times, and is only at risk 3 times. That is what a protection of 70% means.

In the N.T. the physical operation is not practiced. Instead, a circumcision of the heart of the Christian is taught (Rom. 2:29; Col. 2:11-12). This is the true circumcision (Rom. 2:29).
Circumcision is a sign that entered one into the covenant in O.T. times. It was instituted by God (Gen. 17:10-14) and performed on the eighth day after birth (Luke 1:59). It was a sign of the covenant God made with Abraham (Gen. 17:12; Rom. 4:11).

So sew up your foreskin and see how you like it.
Additionally, "female circumcision" is not circumcision at all. It is the gouging out of the clitoris and slicing off of the labia minors, with or without also sewing the labia majors together. Without anesthetics and without sterile procedures. Girls go into shock, get infected, and many die of it. "Female circumcision" is genital mutilation, pure and simple, and is an extreme manifestation of sick male domination.
Jews practice circumcision as a religious issue, as do Muslims. Other religions in Europe and North America have no requirement, but in North America at least, many males are circumcised because of medical habit and because the father is.

Yes Jews do practise circumcision, it is an individual choice for Catholics and the difference is that the penis is still able to be used naturally wheras with female circumcision that is not so.

Do Jews still practice circumcision? yes, for the most part
And do catholics practise it at all? probably many
Also how is it different to those people who sew up the girls vagina? well, we don't do it in order to destroy a boy's sexuality, and we don't do it if it will cause health problems. people who practice FGM do it specifically to destroy a girl's sexuality, and they don't care very much if it causes her to die. and not only that, but i can guarantee you most jewish men are grateful to have had it done as a baby, instead of having to do it as an adult.

Yes jews still practice circumcision. Some catholics also practice it. Muslim too. Most Americans also do the procedure.
It is completely different from the clitoris cutting you mention.
Circumcision has many benefits, keep reading...
CIRCUMCISION IS VERY BENEFICIAL, its cleaner and several research bodies have concluded that circumcised men have less risk of contracting STD's such as AIDS-HIV or herpes.
Uncircumcised penises are difficult to keep clean, and more prone to infections and penile cancer, studies have shown.
A circumcised penis is naturally clean and virtually free from urinary infection. You will not have to worry again with careful washing of your penis.
Is it NOT true that the AAP (American Academy of Paediatrics) does not recommend circumcision. They simply say they leave the decision to parents. But recently, and specially after the New Zealand study, the AAP has been discussing if it may be necessary to change their policy and recommend circumcision to all newborns as they used to do, so in the future we may see that the AAP advocates again circumcision.
Have a look at: http://www.baby-health.net/articles/381.html
About STD's:
As I said, several studies carried out by prestigious research bodies have concluded that uncircumcised penises are more prone to infections and contraction of STD's, including AIDS-HIV. Circumcised men have been proved to be up to seven times less likely to be infected than those who are uncircumcised. Have a look at this site: http://icuxbridge.icnetwork.co.uk/news/tm_objectid=14095142&method=full&siteid=53340&headline=-circumcision-protects-against-aids--name_page.html
As for women, studies also show that circumcision also protects female partners from AIDS-HIV and other STD's. Browse this article: http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/Press_releases/2006/02_08_06.html
About sensitivity of a circumcised penis:
No medical or physiological study has proved that circumcision reduces sensitivity, opposed to common belief. The American Academy of Paediatrics (AAP) confirms this on their web site; have a look at: http://www.aap.org/pubed/zzzjzmemh4c.htm
Circumcision is an easy and nowadays painless procedure, which has many benefits, and virtually no risks.
Circumcision is NOT an amputation. Circumcision is NOT comparable at all to female circumcision, which is something completely different.
Circumcision rates are INCREASING nowadays, both in the United States and overseas. Many African and South American countries with little circumcision tradition are starting to promote the procedure to help to reduce the AIDS-HIV infection rates.

Yes the Jews still circumcise. Many catholics and protestant circumcise.
How it is different from the female version is that it rarely causes major medical problems while the female version does.

It is definitely done in Jewish circles.
Catholics generally do it only when it is advised on reason of health.
As for sewing up girls vaginas, these people often refer to their religious books and learnings.
Bullshit, it is a procedure based on patriarchal oppression, unfortunately often carried out by misguided women.
Horrible and despicable!!!
In addition to cutting off the clitoris and vaginal lips, thus preventing a normal sex life, it mostly causes pain and danger of infection.
A relict of the Dark and Blood Middle Ages!!!
