If he's an ex, who has moved on, it's probably not a good thing to be so hung up on him. I wouldn't call it bad so much as unhealthy.
If he's an ex, who you still like/love and isn't involved with someone else, this might be your heart's way of telling you to try and give the relationship another chance.
Caution in that line of thinking, though. If his certain habits or personality caused the break-up and he still has the same problems. You will be better off not going down that road again.
(Example: If he was a player, and he's still a player. Leave him alone.)
If he's a guy, you never dated and still wonder about. It could be okay to look him up and see what he's doing.
In any of these cases, if he doesn't feel about you like you feel about him or if he is involved with someone else (lover/girlfriend/fiancee/wife). I wouldn't pursue him. It almost always ends badly, and your heart will probably be broken all over again.
If he's an ex and your relationship just ended, it's natural to have second thoughts. Have your cry, mourn your relationship, and bury it for good. Dwelling on a relationship that isn't possible for whatever reason is unhealthy and depressing.
Eventually, try getting into the dating scene slowly. You'll probably surprised yourself when you do. You had a life before this guy and you'll have one after. And you'll probably meet someone even better in the process. Good luck exploring the options.

No, its not bad to want love. But I do recommend you doing other things that you love doing. Like some kind of hobbies, to get your mind off him for a while. I think all you need is some time.

YES! it is bad. nobody is worth your 100% complete and un devided attention and thought without just compentation. He doesn't recognize you then you got a problem. either your not talkin to him and so nothing is changing or he doesn' like you and your wasten your time and energy on someone that you will never have. find someone else.. there is always someone else.

it isn't bad, i know how you feal i two love a girl but she has............well i can't say that but her boyfriend isn't the greatest guy, yet she can't see it.
in essence no it is not bad to what to love someone and have them love you back. hope this helps
