I download movies from limewire, but I can only play ones in mpg and mpeg format. all the good movies are in avi format. what program can I download(for free) to play these movies?

Try this one. It's called VLC Media Player, and should play almost any video file that you care to throw at it.

If you do decide to use Windows Media Player or RealPlayer, get something like K-Lite Codec pack from the second link. I use that particular one, and haven't found a file that I'm not able to play ... yet!

VLC Player can play many different types of files. More than likely it will play your .AVI file.

Windows Media Player and RealPlayer usually can as well. If you are using one of those, check and see if you need a specific codec to be downloaded to play it.
