i know salons sell better stuff but my hair is pretty good most of the time and i havent noticed major dameage.

i use Loreal Vive for normal hair, and white rain/suave volumizing conditioner. but im almost done, and i have a bottle of herbal essences (old) for oily hair conditioner.
is this good? what were your experiences with drugstore brands/

I usually get something kind of cheap that smells good for shampoo (herbal essence, suave, aussie, etc.). However, I do splurge for a good conditioner. As your hair is in good condition now, a quality conditioner can help maintain your hair. Crappy conditioner can lead to hair damage.

If you want quality...go with the salon products. Thats the best advice you'll get. Drugstore products you want to avoid are Dove and Pantene, they leave a residue on the hair shaft everytime you wash. Good luck♥

Drug store brands are fine, but they can dry out your hair. if you color your hair I wouldn't use drustore brands- they strip your hair of the color much faster even if they say for colored hair on the bottle. Any salon brand is good for colored hair. Also go to a store like ULTA- they have drugstore brands as well as salon brands- you may be able to find a salon brand on sale- or get a sample size to try.

I have very "fickle" hair. Over the years, I have spent lots of money on expensive salon shampoos. Nothing, however, has made my hair feel better than pantene products....believe it or not. Once, a stylist even addmitted to me that there was no difference besides price. Save your money!

i personally LOVE the new line of herbal essences, it has a shampoo for every hair problem, and smells WONDERFUL. i can still smell my hair today and i haven't washed it since yesterday! i don't think i've ever been this excited about a product, but this stuff is REALLY GOOD.
