You have to respect yourself before anyone can respect you.If you want to be silly and funny, be silly and funny. Some people will inevitably think you are being stupid. But some people have abnormally large sticks shoved up their behinds. Even if you feel something for a person that thinks you are weird or silly. It's better not to pursue a relationship, trying to be someone you're not. Than it is having a relationship, where you can never be yourself. This may sound too warm and fuzzy, but learn to love yourself for who you are. Quirks and all. That will show itself in everything you do. The right boy will come along, and when he does, he'll respect and admire you for your confidence in yourself.

With boys/men it's less about earning their respect than it is about finding the right guy. Give him some physical attention but also spend some time talking to him. If all he is interested in is getting under your shirt then it's time to move on because he will never respect you.
Also, it's cliche but don't "put out" right away and progress slowly between the bases.

Don't change yourself for a boy. If he deserves you he will respect and admire you for you. Stay away from extreme behavior if you totally gotta try to snatch him. I've always believed in the way to a mans heart is through his stomach. Ask him out to eat at your favorite non-feminine restaurant or make him some good baked goods.

The best advice anyone can give you on this is.... To be yourself!!! I know that sounds generic, but it's true! If you are opena nd friendly, be that... if you are shy.. then so be it! Never try to be someone you're not. it's not always your words... it's your body language! Smile and have open and accepting eyes... =oP Hope that helps

Start competing with him at stuff he likes and beat him at it. Since you said "boy" you are probaly under 18, which means if he's a Jock, than start beating him at sports, if he's smart, have intelligent conversations with him, if he's classy, out class him or dance.

say "no" to them when they offer sex, and tell them you are saving yourself for marriage! ...
but don't lie about it just to get them to admire or respect you, and if you ask me, the best respect and admiration you should be yearning for is the one you get from someone who loves you for just being you! anything less or more, just isn't worth it, and you shouldn't have to change yourself just to get that from them! stick to being you, because you'll end up truly being happy when you find the one who respects and admires you for being you!

trust this 35 yr old woman who has dated a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!
men want to feel like men-so don't be super strong and independent.
men don't like clingy and needy-so don't be too much of those.
be yourself but know that men like women who listen to them and are easy going.
don't be too available either.
i don't play games but you have to have a life other than them and they will admire you for it.
taking care of yourself and looking good obviously help too.
good luck dating, it is truly hard out there.

Ask your grandmother how a lady should act, and never accept anything short of a gentleman, once you've learned.
