When i was a total jerk to this one woman she basically hated my guts,but after being more polite and caring and respectful she seemed to want to give me a second chance.What's the deal with this?I thought women dug jerks?

Do you think that most women are crazy enough to endure a jerk for a boyfriend. What's that say about the strong women!? We like for men to be gentlemen, and cautious, but at some point we look for them to make their move on us. And, if they have built up enough trust and admiration from us, chances are we won't turn them down when they approach us in a romantic way. Remember, real women don't like jerks, we want real men.

Woman you are a bit older and more experienced want a gentlemen.Trust me in saying that women who allow men they are dating to be jerks or dating jackassed, you don't want to date these women long term. They have not found themselves or have enought respect for themselves.
So keep on being a gentlemen, there are not too many out there so you will stand out and be snatched up.

Even though a lot of women say that they dont like to be treated like total princess in secret we do! When we women say "It's ok you don't have to help me carry these heavy books or etc" it actualy means "I really hope that you be a gentleman and help me"
Even though we might express that we do not need a guy to open the door for us or help us and helping us carry heavy books we somehow test the guy to see if he will be a true gentleman and help us out anyway or be a jerk and actualy not help. We like guys that are nice and polite. By politeness meaning opening doors for us, offering to help us when we are carrying really heavy stuff (that can hurt us). I have met guys that see me walking down a hall and I am carrying a load of books and just simply do nothing. (jerks or what?). To add to the politeness meaning asking us how are day or weekend went etc.

some are attracted to jerks.It's all about that bad boy mentality. Depends on the woman. Different ones have different taste.
If you ask me though, I'd say that a TRUE gentleman and a FOR REAL nice guy (meaning not just out for sex or to use in any other way) would be greatly refreshing! I don't think jerks deserve a chance.

Where on earth did young men learn that being a gentleman is less manly??? It is a most adoring quality in a man.

A little kindness and respect can go a long way. This isn't for men only...it goes for BOTH GENDERS.
We all want to be cared for in a sweet, polite, caring and respectful way...don't we?

Your best bet is to be real about the situation women smell bs from down the block and even if you are coming across rude they will at least respect you rather than walking all over you. The playing field has leveled since the chivalry in the middle ages so men can stop the act.

I can understand why you got the impression that women like jerks, but that's not quite how it is. Women like power, including powerful men. They want to find a way to make that power serve them.
A woman doesn't like men who hurt her. But she does want a man who can kick other men's butts in her defense. The thing is, though, that the same male muscles used in beating up ruffians can also be used in beating up wives. Gentlemanliness indicates a lower level of hazard in a man's physical power: power tempered by morals, you might say. And that's why women approve of it.
Women don't like two sorts of men: (1) those who abuse them, and (2) those who are overly needy. You have to walk the fine line between those extremes. You need to be somewhat dangerous, but you also need to show her that she's exempt from danger. So you act like a gentleman (toward her), you give her nice sentimental presents, and you ignore other women's overtures. But you don't beg her for anything; she won't like it if you do.

Each woman is different.I prefer gentlemen.I think some women like jerks because they have a hope that they will make the man change for them because they are special.Most of the women I know like gentlemen that treat them like they deserve.

Where did you get that idea?!?! My boyfriend always opens doors for me and is polite, and I love him! If a guy is a jerk than it is a total turn off for me.

Yup to the first part, and wrong on the last statement.
Stable women love men who respect them, jerks get shown the door faster than my dog can scarf down a milk bone.
(I give him the milk bone to give the jerk a fighting chance to get to the door)
