I'm going crazy! He's teething and has a little cold, which is common with him along with teething, but he does not want to touch his "real" food anymore, he will only eat certain cookies, or cereals that he can pick up and feed himself, me feeding him from a spoon is just not an option anymore. He has been eating table food since he was about 8 months old and he's loved it. The most important thing about this is that he needs veggies! How can I get him to eat them?

I found my kids have gone through phases of suddenly not wanting their food. I try not to panic about it, and remember that it will just be a phase, and not to worry if they don't eat much for a few days.

Try making soup and liquidizing it, give it to your child in a cup to drink, even let him drink it through straw. Make a pasta sauce, cut the veggies very small, use penne pasta, and push the veggies inside the pasta pieces. Buy spinach tortellini, kids love pasta and he can eat this with his fingers. Let him eat as much as he can with his fingers. Try boiling cabbage leaves, and then putting a sauce inside, roll them up and let him eat them with his fingers.

If he is teething this may be why he's not into food at the moment. My kids were the same.

Let him feed himself... he wants his independence and there is nothing wrong with that. He will make a little mess, only get about half in his mouth but he will eat. Just give it too him in his high chair.
