Depending upon your age, history, etc., inner ear problems increase with age. Inner ear problems are common with a virus, and usually resolve within six weeks to six months. Usually what goes along with it is nystagmus(look it up). If this lasts for longer than six months, it is considered Menier's Disease, which is about untreatable except with something like Ativert. It's really a pain in the socks to deal with.... Check on all of this stuff on Webmd.com

Vertigo
Locking your knees while standing (Remember all those fainting grooms in America's Funniest Videos? Locked knees.)
Low blood pressure
Not enough oxygen getting to your brain

Go see a doctor. And for heaven's sake, get someone else to drive you there. I don't want you to get dizzy and lose control of the car because you were checking over your shoulder to change lanes.

There is something called Diabetes Insipidus. Rare and not blood sugar related as the diabetes we have all heard of. Has to do with your bodies inability to retain minerals. Can lead to fainting, light headedness, fatigue. If you don't get answers from your regular physician, go to an endocrinologist.

I have the same problem, expecially when I stand up and when I told my doctor she said that I had low blood pressure. Have you had your blood pressure checked resently? That might be it.
