Try Cold-Eeze. You can get it over the counter at Wal-Mart, Target, etc. It contains Zinc, which it what your body uses to heal itself. Be warned-eat before using this, or it can possibly upset your stomach. Try drinking orange juice to get better too!

I start taking echinacea with goldenseal when I know I've been exposed to a cold or when I feel that very first tickle in my throat (it helps boost the immune system so you either don't get it full blown or the duration is reduced). When I know I've got a cold, I take Zicam and get as much rest as I can...plenty of liquids so the gunk in my chest can be coughed up.

It's a miserable feeling...I hope you get well soon!
