eBay makes the seller put in a disclaimer about only selling to licensed professionals, but I've never had anyone ever ask me to prove anything when I bought something from them.

I wouldn't get into using conventional dental suppliers (for your purposes) as long as there is so much available on eBay. You have to establish an account, etc., and you might not pass muster. They DO have to remain accountable to the law of the land, and so on.

I am sure it is perfectly legal, but what you would want with them, the mind boggles!! Imagine giving yourself root canal treatment God almighty. If you are going to be a dentist, get your gear off the dental college or some poor student dentist will be able to advise properly. There is no way you could practice on somebody unless they were tied down and nuts!!

Of course it's legal. Dental and surgical tools are the mainstay of modelmakers' hardware. My hobby room is full of dental burrs, grinders, scalpel blades, forceps, tweexers, polishers, inspection mirrors, flexible drive shafts, photo-etched saw blades, skin graft blades, micro-snips etc etc etc.

Today, this stuff is readily available from any model and craft supplier but thirty years ago, I had to rely on the goods offices of friends in the dental and hospital supply business.

Hm. I'm not any expert with the law but as long as you weren't working on anyone with them and weren't' doing any harm to anyone...I don't see what the problem would be! Good luck<3

why not a scalpel? an rmi machine? a full operating room? all the stuff a self-made surgeon would need? after all, medicine is such an easy thing to learn!

That's weird...but I'm sure it's only illegal if you offer to pull a friends tooth out with the tools!

PS "Is it safe?" Scary... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Marathon_Man2.jpg
