,most of them were innocent children and civilian people. There is no need to mention those who are tortured and raped by american and british soldiers and not recorded officially.I am a Turk, and I am completely for democracy and human rights, but now I came to understand that all democracy and human rights stuff are delusion created by the West and western oil companies. Am I wrong?

The Iraq war will be remembered as a the Vietnam of our generation. It will be a reminder that we don't learn from our mistakes. Let's hope that future generations will learn from this one.

Until recently I believed Europe and the US were big on democracy and human rights. I've changed my mind since:

1. The US got attacked by a load of Saudi terrorists and responded by invading Afghanistan, in case the terrorist leader was hiding there, and Iraq, in case the government had nasty weapons. (and we all know the outcome of these).

Any plans to invade Saudi yet, then?

2. Guantanamo Bay. The US are imprisoning folk without trial. This is outrageous and no European countries are making a fuss about it.

I believe that all men are equal and find it very sad that the US seem to think that a few 1000 foreigners are less important than US citizens. I'm even sadder that Europe is not condemning this lunacy!

That number was shot down months ago. I don't know why anybody still believes that number. That number was generated by a sample survey and not a morgue count. The morgue count is somewhere around 130,000-150,000 (number range given by the president of Iraq) for 3 1/2 years and that's the total number of people that died in Iraq including foreign fighters, people that died in traffic accidents, people that died of old age etc.

Your numbers are HIGHLY inflated! We're talking more like (using even the most liberal of estimates) 300,000...

You sound like you're listening to terrorist propaganda over there... Turn of Al Jezera.

TERRORISTS are responsible for killing innocent men, women, and children. The cases of rape and torture are few and far between and are not supported in policy.

You are TOTALLY wrong.

As an American, I believe that, "All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.."

That means ALL people are deserving of these, and when a government becomes destructive to these ends, the responsibility falls to those who are able to remove it.

Yes you are wrong. Its the iraqis that are doing most of the killing. The best way to bring a war to an end is to deliver the greatest amount of death and destruction upon the enemy by the quickest means. Radical muslims are a real threat to the world and humanity and they need to be dealt with. I'm sure if they had there way you would not be free to speak your mind. Radical muslims are too much like nazis. They must be stopped.

Where are you finding this information, because if you are relying on word of mouth, that is usually unreliable. Besides, it's not our soldiers that are doing the most killing, it's the terrorists who are driving their car bombs into crowded buildings, throwing grenades at our troops, and blowing up hospitals who are killing the most people.

how many of those "innocents" were killed by the bloodthirsty tyrants who purposly kill civilians.
if you are for democracy and human rights and you say they are delusions then does that make you delusional?
seems that way to me.so much for your opinion.

We are being lied to. It's not about a war on terror. It's really all about the winning of THIS secret "prize"!...
