The cons, will be the front brakes. Is one of the crappiest setups I've ever had encountered. The pros, is a very comfy ride, for its size, and a good turning radius. I still currently own mine. Yhe other thing I'm not too thrilled with, was a false carfax report, of a nonreported majot accident on it...Now its driveability is starting to show. Be weary of dealerships trying to pawn it off too fast. Other than that, was and still is a good truck.

The quad cab is gonna be big enough for ya, my neighbor has one and he's about your size and fits comfy. The cons are like they said above, the tranny is probably the worst problem, but not all of them have tranny problems, and then the miles per gallon is kinda crappy cause the quad cabs have the 5.9 in them, and they are gas hogs. I have an 03 dakota R/T with the 5.9 and i get about 11-13 city and 15-17 on the highway. But I also have alot of fun with the 5.9 in there, lots of get up and go, and the low end torque is pretty good. I also have a 98 dakota with the 5.2 in it and its a little better on the gas. Never had any tranny problems with both of them now. One question, you live in texas but you want 4 wheel??? Are you doing alot of offroad driving or what, cause in my opinion in texas you wouldn't need 4 wheel, but to each their own i guess. Good luck and hope you get the truck you want.

My boss owns the exact model you are looking into. Not alot of problems, but his problems have been costly.

Dodge has terrible transmissions. He's had to replace a cracked valve body, and is now having his torque converter replaced.

The suspension is good for highway driving, but is crappy for off road. If you buy it make sure to upgrade the shocks if nothing else.

Gas mileage is on the low end of the totem pole. he has the 5.6 Magnum (I think) in 4WD. He gets 14 on the hwy and 13 in the city. When he dogs it, he gets 14 hwy, 13 city. On long interstate trips, he cet 14hwy, 13 city. I think you get the picture.

And if you like sound, replace the speakers as soon as you get it. His has had 3 sets. Also, the paint has chaulked on it and he's had it repainted.
