I suggest you take your photo in colour, then in Photoshop make a new layer. Convert the first to grayscale, on the other select your ribbon and delete the rest of the picture. Merge the two layers, hey presto, you have 'popped' colour with the main part of the pic in B&W and the ribbon remaining red.

This has to be done on your computer. You have several choices of photo editing softwares. The most widely used is Adobe Photoshop, but that may cost you a few bucks and if you won't use it more often, doesn't wort paying for it. There is a free program called Gimp, this can do the job for you as well. Either way you will go, you have to duplicate you image so that you have the same thing on 2 separate layers. The one on the bottom you have to desaturate it, this will turn it b&w and the layer on the top, you erase everything except the ribbon. Using the hue adjustment and the color balance you will be able to turn that in red. Good luck!

That would be photoshop darling. Just scan it and then start playing around! You can apply a filter to the photo and change it to black and white... getting the ribbion to stand out like that? If everything else in the picture is a different color I guess that you could start adjusting the levels until you got what you wanted.
