Interesting question. I guess if they are for the social prestige to go to the ''in'' place, they might.

There are true sandal flip flopper's that leave a Christian message tract in the ground.
Since Christianity is about having a relationship restored with God, Christian can go up and down in their growth or even stagnate, but Christian is always a child of God, born of His Spirit, cleansed by His Blood. Nothing will change that.

Of course, what do you think missionaries are all about!! This is not to say the missionary does not believe what he or she is selling but it is all about who has the right religion and access to God. If you are a Catholic for example and a Mormon missionary comes to visit you will be told your view is wrong and if you want to go to heaven you must change...flip flop.
It is all so discriminatory...and sad.

I consider quite a few people on here to be religious flip-floppers.

Of course - people that claim to be religious have not thought
very much about it and are easily persuaded and influenced by
others around them. The staunchest ones have been brainwashed from birth and it is difficult for them to get over it.

People make a natural progression in their beliefs as they search for their truth. Let's not call them 'flip floppers'. That is sort of belittling and dismissive.

I know of a guy who was kicked out of Reformed Church seminary, and went to the Russian Orthodox. He was kicked out there, too; tried Greek. Guess what? Right. Went to Wicca (because me and many mutual friends were), although he is the least Wiccan Wiccan I've ever known.

yes, some are called cafeteria catholics, and some are called variegated muslims. the first group follows paractices that are most convenient the second group follows one belief about muhammed and another about his grandson. and they do not practice all that muhammed does. for example, the men shave their mustaches but grow beards like muhammed, but they do not marry 9 year old girls like him. jews can be selectively kosher about certain foods and not others, go to only holiday services, but not on their sabbath, etc. it isn't about religion, it's about people.

My husband used have what I picked on him as religion of the mont club membership. He was searching for the religion that was best for him and would follow just about any one that would tell him about his or her religion. Now he is Agnostic and very happy with it.
