I don't know about most religions, but there are many aspects such as that in Christianity that have been changed through the history of the Bible. Women's roles in the Bible were downplayed more and more through the earlier years of the Bible, due to insecurities of the Catholic church. Also, the original books were transcribed by males, usually monks, not women. This also explains the numerous errors in the Bible. If someone tells you the Bible is never wrong, then they haven't ever read it. However, most pagan/wiccan religions are based more on an equality standing, or slightly female bias. Most other religions are male-oriented and I suppose they think it looks better to be worshipping a male as opposed to female. Check out the book "Misquoting Jesus" sometime, it's pretty interesting.

No one 'slipped' it in. The major religions were invented and made up by men. Would you make up a way to have power and control over people and then give it away? I doubt that anyone would.

If women had invented religions and made up the Gods, they would have made female gods....children would make child gods...my dog would make me god, but that's just because she doesn't understand how it is supposed to work.

If men had to give birth, there would be an abortion clinic on every corner of every town - right across the street from the topless bar and the auto parts store.

Think I already said this to you, which means your just another ignoramus. But for the benefit of others.
What we understand as God is complete. It isn't until
the Lifeforce leaves the Source, that it turns into what we
understand as the Masculine and Feminine.
The rest is just an EGO TRIP!

God is refered to as male (He/Him/Him) because the Bible always has called Him our Father. He tells Moses that He is the Father of Abraham. Jesus is His only Son. Jesus calls Him Father. God isn't a physical body like humans. He is pure spirit but is Father to us. Women have the eggs and the uterus to carry the babies but it's the man's seed (sperm) that makes that egg into a baby. Man makes life and woman carries life. All cultures state this.

Mother nature isn't real. Earth is referred to as 'she' because 'she' carries us. We live on/in her. But earth and nature isn't a spirit or any force that creates life. Only God creates life.

Its ok for religions to give one of the main actors a gender. its all part of the storyline and is only a belief system.
It only becomes erroneous when the belief system try's to escape into real life and attempt to interfere with facts.
If a factual name were to be given then it would have to be non gender and interpreted as 'non-God'. mainly because it/he/she doesnt exist.

The term father means life giver. God is our heavenly father and gave life to us all. Father is a male gender oriented role. God cannot be properly genderized, but using the term "He" makes it easier for us to have a relationship with Him.

I agree. this is a main reason for female majoritiy in Wicca for example. Females are now embracing their inner beauty. It's better that way. But then again, to each their own right?

it's because white monks wrote the bible. Hence God is always a man and Jesus is a white man, whereas he would have been arabic because he was born in Jerusalem. The Bible is very flawed and contradicts itself in pretty much every way. The overall message is good, but I think that everything should be taken with a pinch of salt.
