I believe in God, and live a good life. I was watching a show on TV, where they change moms for a week. The lady on the show claimed to be a Christioan, and even taught Sunday School. When she arrived at her new location, she called the new dad a stoner, just because he had tatoos and peircings. My husband is from Africa, and he has peircings. Then she called the little boy a girl, just because he had long hair. Didn't Jesus have long hair?

There are many, many, MANY people that CLAIM to be christian but really are not. They don't live by the teachings of the Holy Bible, rather they twist it to their advantage to control others. I was raised in a christian environment but I don't claim to be "christian". I do my best to follow the teachings of the bible that make the most sense to me. Like, "Treat others as you would like to be treated". There are way more than just that but I fail to remember them at the moment.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

But Jesus had a beard!
I have often mistaken boys of hippie parents who let the child's hair grow down to his waist for a girl. Well, don't blame it on me - they're the ones who want their boys to look like girls.
And I have never met a Christian who claims to be perfect. If you find one, let me know. Christians are just forgiven for the bad things they do. However, they are still expected to obey the 10 Commandments.
As far as the woman calling the man a "stoner", where there's smoke, there's fire, don't you think?

Just like there are no perfect practicers in any religion on earth, Christians are not exempt from hypocracy. Don't judge all Christians based on a couple of poor examples of Christianity. Any true Christian will be humble enough to admit they are not perfect. I don't know any that claim to be perfect anyway.

Please don't judge christians by the TV show that you watched, I am a christian but I am taught that we(christians) are NOT suppose to judge others(non-christians) because we no longer live the life that person is living. You were right to be angry at her judging, but please don't JUDGE(follow in her footsteps) all christians by her standards. We really are good people and i too have a tattoo via my old life, that doesn't X you out of God's love, so hope that helped you with that qustion..

I'm a Christian and have NEVER claimed to be perfect, just forgiven. Christians are people too. Also try to remember, not all who claim to be Christians actually are, take "Mrs. Stepford" who posts on this site, she claims to be a Christian yet is definitely not so....

I am Christian and just about everytime I make a judgment, before I state my judgment I state as a predicate that I know that I am not perfect but what I see is......

You on the other hand have made a judgment of ALL Christians based on what?... that we shouldn't judge others? Puhleeze. Your survival depends on your ability to judge others, who you hang out with, who you do business with, who you marry, who you befriend, etc., etc.,

No, but I have seen that comunists do that exactly, and noncomunist atheists too. According to what you say, that is not enough to make such a statement
