You walk up to a mountain that has two paths. One leads to the other side of the mountain, and the other will get you lost forever. Two twins know the path that leads to the other side. You can ask them only one question. Except! One lies and one tells the truth, and you don't know which is which. So, What do you ask?

You ask each twin "What would your twin say?" This works because.... if the correct path is on the left side. So say you asked the liar "What would your brother say?" Well the liar would know his brother was honest and he would say the left side, but since the liar lies, he would say right. If you asked the honest twin the same question, he would say right, because he knows his brother will lie. Therefore, you would know that the correct path was the left!

The question you ask is which way will the OTHER twin tell me to get to the other side, and take the opposite path. The twin always telling the truth will point to the path that leads to being lost. The twin that is always lying will also point to the path to get lost, as the truth twin would NOT tell you that.

haha, that is a classic one. You ask one twin which path the other will say leads to the other side. Then you take the other path. (As in, not the one you are told the other will say leads to the other side.)

You ask, "Which way gets me back down the way I came from?" Actually you would ask each brother, "Would your brother say you are a liar?" The one who answers "Yes" is the truthful one. Then you ask him which is the path to safety.
