If it were two hours later, it would be half as long until midnight as it would be if it were an hour later. What time is it now?

right now it is 9:00
if it was 2 hours later it would be 11:00 (so it would be 1 hr until midnight).
if it was 1 hour later it would be 10:00 (so it would be 2 hrs until midnight.)
and 1 is half of 2.
so it is 9:00 now. (21:00 army time)

if it were 2 hours later, half as long is one hour, one hour away from 12:00 is 11:00, and as it would be if it were an hour later, 11:00 is a hour later than 10:00.

9 p.m. 3 hours to midnight. one hour later = 2 hours to midnight. two hours later = 1 hour to midnight
