SMOKING - not only cigarette or bedi or cigar - also any type of hookah, Shisha, etc.etc.are not good for health. The smoke you inhale form a layer of Tar and Nicotine based chemical in the lungs and is the main cause for cancer - Not only Lung cancer but also othe cancers and heart diseases. Smoking cessasion is difficult but somehow we should achieve it.

Smoking cessation is the medical term for quitting smoking. It is a vital part of cancer prevention because smoking is the single most preventable cause of death from cancer. As early as 1982, the Surgeon General reported that tobacco causes more cancer deaths in the United States than any other factor-30% of all cancer deaths, including 87% of deaths from lung cancer. Although people think of smoking most often in connection with lung cancer, smoking is also associated with cancers of the mouth, throat, voice box (larynx), esophagus, pancreas, kidney, and bladder. Women who smoke increase their risk of cancer of the cervix. Quitting smoking, however, significantly reduces the risk of cancer; 15 years after quitting, a former smoker's risk is almost as low as that of someone who has never smoked.

Smoking is like an invitation for cancer and we have to stop it as CANCER IS STILL AN ENIGMA-

Definitely, any person who argues that the water in such a device would "filter out" tar and other carncogenic compounds is hopelessly and dangerously deluded. For one thing, smoke from such devices should still contain acetone, carbon monoxide, and, according to wikipedia, "Tobacco smoke also contains various other carcinogens than polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, such as traces of radioactive elements." There is no way that these chemicals could all be disolved into the water.

There are always dangers when inhaling foreign substances. That is why you cough when you first smoke-your body is telling you, "No-this is a foreign invader." Lung cancer can be caused by many different things besides tar.

it depends what you are smoking, what the bowl is made of, how much you smoke, and how many chambers there are. tobacco is bad no matter what you do to it. the nicotine and other carcinogens cant be filtered out. alluminum bowls are bad. i would go with glass if you can. if there are more than one chambers that means more water contact, and less tar that you will inhale.
