Sorry but today I am just fired up and I feel like debating
Am not tying to be rude in anyway

Christians you say Islam is the violent think again. You guys have it backwards and please let me turn it frontwards. You have made a mistake is not Islam that is violent but Christianity itself. In a country call Nageria which is in Africa Christians there went and fired mostly every mosque and in Europe Mosques were burned down. You christians are are very critical, judgemental whatever you want to call it. You destroy people emotionally. Explain which religion is violent again and I promise you the christians in Nageria also called Muhhamad a name because he had a lot of
wifes that I will not . Islam is the one and only religion am not saying Christianity is False but the followers are confused.
Whos religion is the violent one?
Yours

I have a comment on this one.

Do you know that the Muslim people are burning down buildings, flying plains into buildings, hurting other people only to better themselves because other people do not believe in there religion. We are not the violent ones, though we do make bad decisions and do the wrong things sometimes, we are not super natural, although our God is we can not be like him, we are all humans. We are not trying to take up defense for what you my have seen or heard because bad things have been done and people have been hurt, we can not always control things that have happened. The religious teachings of Islam are peaceful and nonviolent, just as it is in the Christan religion, the problem is that in both religions there are Extremest groups who violate the religious laws and commit violence against other people violating the teachings of both religions. I do not want my Christianity known for the acts of those few nor do you I am sure. Thats frontwards.

In reading your Q I saw a lot of pent up anger coming out.. If you will look back in history, in the dark ages, you will find that when Christianity, the religion, started it was not a peaceful transition to say the least... The early churches were so blind they didn't see the simple message Jesus had left on their hearts and started what was soon to be the crusades... They would go into many and all settlements and demand the people there to worship as they saw fit or face death... Millions were killed (supposedly in the name of the lord)... I have read volumes on these types of subjects and have come to the conclusion (very easily I might say) that it is not Christianity to blame for this it is the religious extremists.. Every religion has its loud few that seem to bring a bad public image to the world, even Islam... I know that I am a child of God,my loving and forgiving heavenly father and I will walk daily in Jesus' footsteps... We all have shortcomings in religions don't blame all of us for what a few believe... Peace be with you all your days..

Not all Christians think that Islam is a violent religion. Only those who are ignorant do, just as only the ignorant think that Christianity is violent.

the fact is that the basis of all religions (except possibly the satanic ones) are peaceful.
It is only through the corruption of these bases that people use 'religion' as an excuse to be violent- this is as true of the Christian Crusades as it is of Islamic Fundamentalist terrorists.

The histories of these religions are steeped in violence- martyrs, wars, hatred..but any acts of violence were not acts of God. (Except, of course, in defence)

In the end, Christians, Muslims and Jews are all related to each other as People of the Book. Forgetting this is what leads to these accusations.
A better question is: Why do some Christans think that all Muslims are violent, when we both share such violents pasts?

Islam is still very violent, are all Muslims violent? No... thats the same for Christianity... Exactly what you said about Christians can be said about Muslims. Maybe you are not a violent Muslim.. I dont know... I know Im not a violent Christian and no human will ever make me BE a violent Christian either. Violent people do violent things and will use any excuse they can to justify it... including claiming they are Christian or Muslim, or anything else.

However, true Christians follow Christ and His teachings. Christ did not preach war, hate and violence. True Muslims follow the Qu'ran. Does it preach violence to "infidels"? I dont know.

Violent people who claim to be Christians act out not because Jesus said to but because they want to. Do the violent Muslims get their acts because the Qu'ran tells them to or what?

There are many reasons why I wont ever become a Muslim but I just wanted you to see that violent people have claimed to be part of both Christianity and Islam.

While some events in history that have been performed by some professing themselves to be "Christians" have been, to say the least, SHAMEFUL, Christians tend to speak out against them.
The Crusades? A tool of satan, and utterly wrong.
The witch hunts? WRONG.
Any other violence committed at the hands of so-called Christians? WRONG.
And there's one huge difference between Christianity and Islam (besides which is the "older" religion):
Do you know where Muhammad is buried? Is he in his grave? Yes?
Jesus's tomb is EMPTY. And yes, it is known as to where it is.

OKayI think this should be said first....anyone who kills in the name of any God is either misguided or a liar. If a christian kills in the name of God he is most certainly using religion as a sheild for another motive altogether and will have to deal with the wrath of God when all is said and done. People who kill in the name of Mohammad or Allah are either brainwashed or as applies to the Christians, using the title to hide an ulterior motive. War is money, pure and simple. Money and power and the right to claim supremacy. None of that is of God or Allah.

Peace!
Calm down.
Let me clarify a few things.

Nowhere in the Christian faith is it taught to kill, be judgmental, or destroy other people emotionally. Just as Islam is peace, the core of Christianity is love, just as God is Love. Christ taught people to love their "enemies"!!! The teachings of Christianity are not to blame for what evils that people who call themselves Christians commit.

I think the problem is when people get so attached to their religious AFFILIATIONS (as opposed to really understanding the humane and benevolent message of their religion) that is, their in-group ("us"), that they begin to judge, even hate, and persecute people from other faiths ("them"). They even interpret Scripture, conveniently picking and choosing only what suits their purpose (and thus not getting the whole Truth), accordingly.

As one person may say it, even the Devil can quote from the Bible. A person filled with hate and one who is so narrow-minded in his faith can possibly interpret religious scripture erroneously, biased against those who are different, inspiring further strife between people. As such, any person or group of people may become violent depending on how they interpret their teachings, and depending on their existing attitudes in approaching the teachings of their religion.

I think open religious and international dialogue, with a necessary attitude of open-mindedness and sensitivity to Others, is necessary to achieve the peace that we all (I hope) want. War and retribution, cold economic sanctions and violence (perpetuated by the pride of male leaders?), will only perpetuate hatred and distrust.

God bless you.
