'And when they see you (O Muhammad SAW), they treat you only as a mockery (saying):"Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a Messenger?'

"He would have nearly misled us from our aliha (gods), had it not been that we were patient and constant in their worship!" And they will know when they see the torment, who it is that is most astray from the (Right) Path! (Qur'an 25:41-42)

No. Sorry, but I don't believe it. I tell you why. Because before the Angel appeared to him, if it he did, he was a successful merchant, and that how he meet his first wife. whom she hired him to take care of her successful business. That is why.
Also, I have seen a picture of a letter, which says it was his writing to another tribe leader. This shows he was able to write, and thus can read.
Also, he signed a trait with a Jewish tribe which later broke. He can sign.
Also, he advised his people to learn. Why didn't he learn. I don't think he was handicapped, by far I think he was a very smart man.
Also, his wife was a teacher to several people. Why didn't he learn from her at the very least.
You see to many whys that tells me he was able to read and write. I believe he was a very smart man, and as one, he was around educated people. How is it possible that he lived all his life unable to read or write. It doesn't make sense. I think the Muslim people put him up high so much that at the same time you place so much higher up above all of us even Allah himself that you at times say things that is not complementary.

No disrespect, but I don't think it was true.
