Well. I'm going to go to France as a foreign exchange student, and I was wondering if you French Natives could teach me some French sland terms or other useful terms in advance! Since the slang in our books is from the 80's!

Slang changes soo fast and non-natives trying to use slang learned from books sound, to be polite, odd.
Just use standard language and pick up slang from your host family and new friends. It really won't take that long, and you'll be up-to-date.
