Having served in the Army and in the Army National Guard, I can say that I loved the National Guard a lot more than the regular Army. If you are willing to make the commitment to serve our country no matter what, then by all means join. I would mention though that the Air Force is better.

My husband recently enlisted in the Army National Guard and my brother joined nearly a year ago. From both their experiences, it's not that bad if you do what you're supposed to. It also depends on your MOS if your AIT is hard or not. Go to www.1800goguard.com There will be a star at the top of the page that says "Contact a recruiter". Click on that and give them some basic information (City state...etc) A recruiter will contact you. Keep an open mind. You have a lot of options right now. Be sure this is the right choice for you.

it's going to be over before you understand it. i understand a collection of adult men that had young ones after I went to person-friendly. i wager it make a distinction of how previous they're. i'd say that in the experience that they are 5 or older then they are going to be locate. As longs as they are going to be able to stay including your hubby they are going to be superb. Plus, once you connect you'd be sending a verify living house once you're coaching. i'd connect. the hardest section will be that you wont be able to e mail or call, you should deliver snail mail which receives style of stressful after awhile. i imagine you should. I did and it change into completely nicely worth it. reliable luck. P.S.- To all the different adult men, convinced motherhood is major, yet in reaction i'd say that holding your little ones and providing them with a destiny is between the suited parts of being a parent. How extra efficient are you able to do both than with the aid of transforming into a member of the military. no longer purely are you holding you're transforming into a great bonus, I scent college funds. I take it decrease back, your little ones at any age are superb. it is purely 9 weeks. Then AIT once you'd be able to communicate many times. What are you wondering about making your MOS.

If you really have your heart set on serving your country, I say go for it. As for the part about Basic Training, having just recently graduated from Basic Training, it is only as hard as you make it. Don't just base your decision on what other people tell you, make sure that this is something that you really want to commit to. Contact a local recruiter for more information.

Basic training is no piece of cake. In essence what they do is to break you down physically and emotionally, and build you up to conform to what a soldier should be. I went through basic training and AIT, so I know what it is all about.

Do it and good luck. Basic is not as tough in the Army National Guard as it is in the Marines. You will do great. Don't worry.

Check with a recruiter. find out what they expect from you for basics. if you can do it and you have at least one weekend a month to serve than you might consider it. they will also help you with your education. my nephew has been in Oklahoma NG for 2 years and never been deployed. Others have so you never know. also he loves it!
