part of the problem with proposing an all-powerful being is where responsibility for anything ultimately lies.

This is a very good question, and at first glance you can look at God in a very bad way. I try though to stop, and re-check how I view God each time. I see and know God as a loving and merciful God. Knowing this, I think of that verse as not saying that he plans the abortions, but that he knows us before we are born and what is going to happen to us. This doesn't necessarily mean that he made it happen, but that he just knows HOW it is going to happen. Yes, he may know that a child is going to be aborted, but I wouldn't say that it is because he chose that for the child. It is very confusing, and there are some things that may never seem answered, but I choose to have faith and that is what makes it all make sense.

Ah, but you leave out the free will part. Perhaps this "seeing me before I was born" is an intermediary session prior to reincarnation back into the world; a discussion is taking place as to the set of circumstances which will most benefit the soul in the next lifetime. The plan is made .... but wait, the free will interfered. Bad choices were made ... well, back to the next session, where once again a new plan is made.
Just a thought.

I don't believe he "mapped out" our life here...but he knew eventually what we would choose. He knows the beginning from the end, he knew he would lose children to unrighteousness, but he still loved us enough to give us the chance to come to this earth, gain a body, be taught the gospel, make our own choices..
IF he "planned" out our life for us there would have been no point of even coming to earth, and he is God so he would not have made a plan where people purposely fail...He had to be just and give us our agency.

good question. God did plan out what he wanted for our lives, but he also created us with free will, which means we can do what we choose when we choose to. We can go along with His plan or we can stray from it and go where we choose. The consequence though, is seperation from God. He always presents a way for you to turn back to Him in your circumstances.

yes i get it ..it's saying that god plans everything that happens on earth but thats not true (don't get me wrong) but god does plan when we will be born and die but in some points in life in lets us be free and let us pick are own path in life ...heres a example why would god make people poor and why would he make kids drop out of school see all these people choose their own path..

God knows what you will do...He doesnt choose it for you, its just that He already knows your decision. For instance....your free will would allow you 2 read this question or not....God didnt make you....therefore God does not make people get abortions or anything...He knows if they will....but He doesnt make them do it. Jesus loves you and I am praying 4 you!

God's omnisicence does not mean that God has predestined all events (although some Christians believe this). And neither God's omniscience nor any form of predestination negate our need to exercise our wills and make right choices.

You are taking the scenario too far, and the verse out of context with the rest of the Bible.
While God indeed "knows" everything that we are capable of, and that we will do, that does not mean that God "causes" all things, especially our sin!
Those who would argue this position are trying to opt-out of free will, self-determination, and moral responsibility. It didn't work for Adam, and it won't work for us!

I like it! How wonderful our creator is...He stands outside of space and time...no other being can claim that! He wrote it, It is His-Story. However, remember He gave us free will...Our destiny may already be determined, but we ourselves chose it!? A paradox and a mystery, who can fathom it...who can figure it out?

Here are the comparsions. You have made a serious error in Biblical study : compare the various translations FIRST. This is fundamental.
And secondly, you need to understand that this is poetry: the language is highly figurative.
Psa 139:16
(ASV) Thine eyes did see mine unformed substance; And in thy book they were all written, Even the days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was none of them.
(BBE) Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book all my days were recorded, even those which were purposed before they had come into being.
(FDB) Tes yeux ont vu ma substance informe, et dans ton livre mes membres étaient tous écrits; de jour en jour ils se formaient, lorsqu'il n'y en avait encore aucun.
