Nostrodamus is reputed to have written a lot about America in his predictions, but not the authors of the bible.

The Mormons may think otherwise, as their religion is based on an American visitation.

Some religious kooks, however, believe this: <20. Ephraim is born in a land West of Israel that is the most powerful nation in the world. (Genesis 41:51-52) 20. America is a land West of Israel and it, too, is the most powerful nation in the world. (Revelation 12:6&14) Ephraim was born in Egypt, which for the most part was west of Israel. Many theologians try to refer to Egypt as being to the south of Israel. It is true that part of Egypt is south of Israel, but for the most part it is west of Israel. The same latitude line on the world map that crosses Israel goes across Egypt, and goes directly to the northern coast of Florida. The United States of America. This is one of the reasons I believe that this shadow is talking about the United States of America. Joseph's family was born in the strongest nation of the world, which was west of Israel. There are 6 million Jews living in America, who for the most part are not born again Christians. God has a very large part of the Gentile bride living here. America is the strongest nation in the world in our time. We have the largest number of Jews living in America that has ever been gathered into one nation in the history of the world. The Church hasn't seemed to notice. But when the Church hears the Lord on this matter, the Jews in America will be saved because we will give them the Gospel as we are supposed to do. It is our destiny to do so. Joseph's house will be saved in America before the tribulation begins. 21. Joseph's brothers are forced to come to Egypt, the most powerful nation in the world. (Gen. 42:2) 21. Israel will be forced to come to America during Tribulation. (Rev. 12: 6&14) When the 7 year famine came upon that part of the world, God had already made preparation for it through Joseph. Joseph's family was safe in Egypt, but the rest of his family who were living in the land of Israel were in grave danger. During this seven years his brothers will be forced to come to him through the hardship of this terrible drought. But it will be for their good that this will happen. It is the plan of God. > from the site http://www.geocities.com/christian_crusade/joseph.html

Edit: You say you're talking about "the USA as God's people"? Oh brother. That's creative logic, for sure. Bush belongs to the other side of that fence.

Although not specifically called by name, I believe the answer is yes. It is called "the hammer of the earth" and a "melting pot" of nations as well as a lions cub -relating the land and its people to Great Britain, which has always used the lion as its symbol and which once ruled over America. I also believe that America is the Babylon mentioned in Revelations 17 &18. Revelations indicates there will be a spiritual Babylon -the false church which prostitutes itself- and a political one -which sounds amazingly siimilar to America. I wish I had my Strong's Exhaustive Concordance with me so I could locate those specific quotes. If you have access to one, look up those quotes and read the entire related verses in context and I believe you'll also know what I say is not only plausible, but probable. Below I'll list a video on this subject that goes into great detail on this subject. You should be able to find or order it from any Christian Bookstore

As A Seventh Day Adventist christian there is a complete bible lessons you can have for free at www.itiswritten.com but in Daniel and Rev. it talks of beast, and a beast speaks of a kingdom, if it comes out of the water, the water speaks of peoples, but in Rev 13 it says the following:
13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by [the means of] those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

God dos not need America to do what he wants ,But God has used America to send out the Good News to the entire world . God Bless you !

The term "America" is not mentioned in the Bible.
Now, we may think that some prophetic books of the Holy Bible refer to the USA. However, every great civilization has thought that THEY were the ones about which the verses were penned.

In short, I'll simply say, "no, the USA is not mentioned."

Lonelyspirit, you're quite the self-righteous, holy roller, aren't you?

And Christians (I use that term LOOSELY) wonder why the world hates them so much? Maybe if you stopped looking down your nose, like the little Pharisee (Look at me! Look at me! I'm better than you. Praise me! I know more about the Bible than ANYONE else!) you are, you might actually help someone instead of hurt them.

But what do you care? You think talking down to people like they're stupid will get you a pat on the back from God?

Nice job, Mr. Self-Righteous. Keep up the good work.

No. No one at the time (at least associated with the Bible) even knew the United States existed. The Mormons claim that Jesus refers to "others" that they claim are the Native Americans (most scholars believes it refers to various individuals in "Limbo" -for lack of a better word- he releases them in something called the "Harrowing of Hell"). Some like to think it might be mentioned in metaphor form in Revelation, but Revelation has to do with Christian suffering under Roman Rule, not "end-times". Ditto for Daniel, but Daniel's talking about the Maccabean Revolt.

i hit upon it humorous how the paper says that the similarities between Christ's demise and ressurection and those of Pagan Gods are because students sre utilising Christian language at the same time as comparing both. Umm... this God dies and lives lower back. THIS God dies and lives lower back, too... would not be counted what words you take advantage of to describe it, it is nonetheless the same element. also, ask your self what the rabbit, the kind of the Celtic Goddess of Spring, Ostara, is doing with Christ at the same time as he's being crusified. and that i do not keep in ideas Jesus having painted eggs with him, both. those are fertility symbols of... Ostara. I likely might want to and can want to have commented at something of the paper had i had the 4 days required to study it yet I absolutely have a existence.

No. Nowhere, in any language, by any interpretation (worth it's weight) - nor in any way or form is the United States of America, or America, or the North American continent mentioned in either Old or New Testaments of the Holy Scriptures.

The bible was written long before the U.S. came into existence. If you are asking if one of the places in the book of Revelation could be the U.S., pardon my saying this so curtly, but God only knows.

PS. Perhaps we are not turly understanding your question. It sounds like you think that God NEEDS the USA to spread the gospel. We are a great country, but we are not that great.
