I suffer from hearing voices, previously it was one male voice that I recognised but now it's two voices talking about me, telling me to cut myself and kill myself. I've also started seeing figures (without faces) at the end of my bed and in my living room, I also see 20+ spiders on walls, in the bath etc. No one else hears or sees them. I keep getting this nagging feeling that people are out to get me and can hear what I'm thinking and I'm convinced that I'm doing stupid things without knowing it. I saw a doctor today who has increased my medication but do others think that I should make an urgent appointment to see my psychiatrist. I'm getting really freaked out by it all.

As you have seen the Doctor today I would suggest you make an appointment with your Psychiatrist as soon as possible. Phone your CPN first thing Monday and tell her your symptoms are worse.
You are under some stress probably and need more help than normal! Talk to your family too! I'm sure they will help you if you let them!!! Hope the extra medication helps till then BUT remember help is only a phone call away.
Good Wishes speeding your way!!!

Do it promptly. This is something that should NOT be ignored. I have suffered similar and I didn't have much done, except for seeing some pathetic therapist. I ended up in psych ward. That's not a place one generally wants to go. If it gets really bad and you cannot contact your psych (outside of hours for instance), then go to A&E. I went to A&E voluntarily the time when I felt like my head was being torn in half by the voices etc... I did spend a few months in psych though, but after *an intervention*, I am much better now, albeit still on the olanzepine. What medication are you on?

If this is true you could be relapsing, go to A&E and ask to see the duty psychiatrist, you may have to wait a while. Are yoy using any illict drugs or excess alcohol? this could effect your mental health.
Do you have any PRN medication that you can take now to help reduce the symptomlogy?
If you have a mental health worker or CPN check you care plan there should be a crisis/contingency plan which will tell you how to get help. There should be a crisis team you can contact, or try NHS Direct 0845 46 47.

I am sorry to hear you are going through this terrible time. When i was young and had my first baby i had psychosis depression after the birth of my first child, a form of post natal depression.and i had hallacunitions. heard voices and i was scared to go out. I was really afraid so i know what you are going through. I had to go into a mother and baby unit in a mental hospital.
That was 25 years ago and i have had nothing like it since. You will get over this and you can get over this and you will come out a better person. Its important that you get alot of counselling. go to your gp ask for it, i had group therapy as well. years later but i wish i had done all this sooner.
Its important that you change your thinking, because its the way you see yourself and your thinking that is causing this, read your bible everyday. because you will feel more confidant and loved. Joyce meyers has written some very good books the confidant woman. is a great book, she writes alot about fear and not letting it control us. I had a terrible childhood i was not wanted and my stepdad beat me and i think this was all the cause of things. I am mature now and i have forgiven and gotton over things. overcoming depression is a good book www.constablerobinson.com they have a whole series if you want to get better you have to be responsilbe for your issues. and make the effort to make changes, such as going to counselling and reading books.
God loves you dearly you are very precious, say out loud to yourself in the moring God loves me, every day quite a few times it will make such a differnece, because he does and you have to believe it, and you were chosen even before the beginning of time. It does not matter what others said or think of you, you belong to God and it only matters what he think of you. You are the apple of his eye. take care. love from Denise.

Go straight to the hospital and ask to speak to someone from psychiatry immediately. Tell them everyrthing-and take your medication there with you. I think it would be a good idea to request hospitalisation so that you can be monitored for a few days while they get your medication sorted. This is mainly for your safety,as you say the voices have told you to cut and kill yourself.
You did the right thing-and a very brave thing-asking for help. All the best to you. x

You better ken up on your research, because the spiders are probably real!
Visual hallucinations must be serious brain injury (nowadays) unless you are a member of the Native American Church.

It is probably schizophrenia my dad has it and he is okay as long as he takes the proper medication, when he takes it. You should see a psychiatrist as soon as possible.
