Being gay is not a sin.
Doing gay things is a sin.
The Pope has condemned the scandals as an evil, repeatedly and publically.
Those sick men have sinned agaisnt their victims, and against God.
Most of these atrocities is not with "boys" or children, but with consenting adolescents with greedy lawyers. By most I mean more that 80%.

.01% is not a large amount. Most people who post in here have been brainwashed by the media and ignore any official studies done by the government and universities.

School teachers are 100X more likely to have sex with children than priests, but you don't see that on any headlines. That is taken out of a report form Christianity Today, which isn't even a Catholic publication.

Sex scandals when taken out of context with other professionals, is grossly unfair.

It is a convenient tool for persecuting Catholicism, because scandals with ministers, though worse, goes overlooked.

it doesn't only happen within catholic churches, a large amount ofm scandals have occured in protestant churches,why focus on catholics? and the protestants who say that the priests aren't saved,what about the born again perverts? the percentage of priests guilty is very small not large like you state. the act of homosexuality is a sin, as humans priests aren't always perfect and make mistakes. the bible clearly shows that there will be bad seeds within the church of god amongst the good. those that commited those sins need help and forgiveness the same as the rest of us who have all sinned.

Large amounts? There are THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of priests, and yet only a select few have had relations with young boys. The percentage that have done so is EXTREMELY low.
Consider how many Catholic priests there are in the world, and yet fewer than 100 have been accused of molesting children.
That aside, to answer your question, the reason that even priests sin is because no one is perfect. I'm not excusing what they've done, it's still wrong, BUT "let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
I'm not without sin. I'd be willing to bet you're not either.

This does not even work in the hypothetical - - IF being - - as being gay is a natural part of life and is found throughout nature. It is NOT a sin. Men having sex with little kids is a MAJOR Sin but pedophilia has absolutely nothing to do with being gay or straight. Straights like the opposite sex. Gays like the same sex. And _ pedophiles like little kids and the sex of the kid often does not matter. They do it with a boy or a girl just so it is with a kid.

Actually they are both sins, however I do not judge anyone for being gay. It's their choice. But as far as a Catholic preist there are just no words. Our world is becoming more and more messed up. The sad part about the preists is that people put their trust in them, and then break our hearts. God forgive them.
